Here's the final revision renderings for the belt drive. When we get the parts in from the machine shop I'll get a few pictures of it installed. And yes, I'll clean my car up this time.

Some of the changes we have made include:

1) Removed the slipper system

2) Removed the quick disconnect hub system in favor of a double-D slotted bushing inside the pulleys so that they can be quickly inserted on the shaft. The system in now entirely set screw and bolt free and will never slip.

3) Two outer plates have been introduced to act as washers for the end nuts. The size should bring some cosmetic appeal and also serves to help disapate heat from the pulleys.

Hey Bud So There Will Be Two Versions? One For The Mcd And Other For The Rampage?

Or This Is The Same For Rampage And Mcd?

Wow nice setup I like the simpler design it looks solid iIthink the diffrent cover design ill be a +
I went with the holes on the outer plate just to reduce rotating mass. It's cheap to machine too so it won't bump the price up much. If you have something simple in mind that you would like to share, please feel free. We have some more complex designs based off some 1:1 aftermarket rims that may be offered as upgrade bling plates.

There are two versions of the drive and possibly a 3rd which will be for FS Racing/CEN. The only difference is the gear plates and the layshafts.

that's awesome. Will there be different pulley rations? Will it be lighter or about the same as the stock plastic setup?
22-30 teeth pulleys will be available. I think on release we will only be offering the 24-28 tooth. 22,23,29, and 30 will most likely come a month or so after release (February). You won't need those though. Rob64 can tell ya that the 24/28 combo is way to low when running HPI tires. If you flip it to 28/24 the topend is really nice but will bog you on the bottom unless you have a light car like the XT.

Also, the setup is heavier than the plastic setup and almost identical to the metal setup. It's because of the mass of the pulleys and the upgrade to a 10mm clutchbell and layshaft. The kicker is that you get a more efficient drivetrain due to the efficiency of a timing belt drive, losing mesh between two sets of gears, and losing the middle layshaft.

hum!

i'll be runing a 29cc and a 30.5cc on hpi tarmac and stock MT tires you think the havier set up 28/24 will still bog out even with the 30.5 or the 29cc?

I will let DemonRC give ya the final word on that. But I would be willing to bet thatd be too tall of a ratio. Even though the belt drive is alot more efficient I don't think it would allow you to pull that tall of a gear. 24/28 should be the hot ticket for the MT.

I was going over the pdf you sent and the holes on the bottom are definately different than mcd for the cen/fs. it might just be easier to send you a gear plate to work with. I asked the owner of fs hop ups to double check the hole measurements for me as they make an alloy plate for the gears.

24/28 pulleys is a 1.16 ratio

23/29 pulleys is a 1.26 ratio

27/33 gears is a 1.22 ratio

Any of These would be sick. A variation of the Rockstar wheel would be awesome. Are you sticking with the blue anodizing? Cause a raw finish option would be cool, too.

What keeps the brake pads on the one piece shaft?
Something similar to the brake hub that connect the 2 pieces layshaft on the stock setup.

Will this fit on the Dunerunner?
I have to double check the part #'s. As long as the gear plate and layshaft is the same as the Rampage then it should fit.

The brake square slides on the layshaft and you set screw it down. I didn't get around to rendering the brake square but it will be included in the kit.

Also, we've been going back and forth on how much we actually want to do with the outer plate. It's conical shaped and only 5mm so we don't have to lighten it if we wanted to keep the cost down. The main function of the outer plate is to protect the pulley flange from debris. It also acts as a washer and of course it's bling if we want to take it that far.

Also, the blue finish was just for the rendering. We will have annodizing options later. The first few batches will be clear annodized.
