My bolts that hold the plates together at the clutch bell keep coming loose and the bearings don't seat well alot of slop and on the brake.lay shaft the bearings walk out had to shim it with another bearing and shim just to keep bearings in gear plate also the brake shaft is cocked on an angle which makes the belt track sideways any body else have this problem. Not to happy with this set up doesn't even have a tank of fuel run on the belt set up i couldnt see this holding up on serious use...

If the lay shaft is not straight, the lateral pressure would cause the bearing to loosen. Those pulleys should be perfectly straight.

From the day i took it out of the box the bearings wouldnt seat.to much slop between bearing and gear plate which is causing my 4bolts to loosen up with makes my clutch bell jam and starts to burn my clutch.bearings are so loose one popped out when i was installing the plate to the chassis.and the gear plate is plastic so locktite wont really work.any ideas because im not happy.i was waiting for the 2 speed i should of just waited for 2 speed.

Sounds like your gear plate is worn , allum plate or the MT plate works better.

The belt drive works great for me, just watch the bearings and gear plate.

Its the new gear plate i believe its carbon fiber.its worn out before i even installed it i much rather have an aluminum plate.if it gets worked out i be much happier but lets see what happens.this is literally brand new i installed it nothing seemed right with the bearings.had to shim one side just to keep bearing to stay in place not even 1 tank of fuel and already have these problems.only reason i went with that setup is because of the multi ratio pulleys.theres alot left to be desired IMO....

Well took the gear plate off and found that the carbon fiber splintered around the inner clutch bell bearing holder.looks like it heated up and splintered.bearing and clutch r shot.hopefully i can get the plate warrantied.

Thanx atleast it's not only me.i'm hoping to.get it warrantied but if not it is a waste of time and money.but i'm hoping i'm the glass is have full person...

don't know yet sent rcdad a message but no response i believe he's on vacation so waiting for him to respond then go from there.hopefully i can get the.gear plate and bearings and belt covered.still needs a clutch but i'll buy that.where did u get yours from rcdad???u said same thing happened to u hows the brake lay shaft bc mine is cocked at a slight angle makes the belt track sideways.i believe if the gear plate was metal and not plastic it would eleminate alot of issues.

Yes I also purchase from RCdad @ rcpitstop. I have the same problem with gear plate bearing just pops out lots of play on clutch bell also brake shaft crooked so I get a little wobble there. The first belt drive was a lot better I went back to gears ugh LOL I got spoiled with the first belt drive that's why I purchase this one with the different ratios hopefully they can fix problem or refund my money we'll have to wait and see...

I do not have a belt drive on the xb. Still waiting for the 2 speed. After 2 years abuse-use, the stock gearplate bearing housings failed.- The 9,500 clutch spring was a big help! Anyways, I bought a new stock gear plate and lamanated 2 layers of fiberglass-epoxy around the outside of the bearing holders on the gear plate.- I have photos-- but cannot seem to be able to upload. Picture is worth a thousand words.

I would like to see those pics but this is a brand new gear plate for belt drive and it failed right away hate to throw away money like that hopefully I can return

The upload was a failure. Trick is with the plastic gearplate, Rough up the mating surface with 80 giit paper- its better to use light weight fiberglass- its the fiberglass that gives the striength. Test fit the glass dry- then lightly tack the glass on one end- then the other end with a small amount of superglue intended for plastics. Then use an acid brush to apply the epoxy.- I used Devcon slow set -2,000 psi epoxy- Apply each coat of epoxy as thin as possable.- let each coat set overnight.- lightly sand - clean off the sanded area with methanol- OR household rubbing achalol= spelling? will work also.- repeat this as many times as you want- the more layers the better-- 2-3 layers.- Another thing to know- The bearings generate quite a bit of heat-- heat-plastic- ya know-- I sorta suspect that on the belt drive most of the heat- stress is on the ideler wheel-bearing- upward torque while its in use- just an Alfred guess---.

Nice tip Alfred but the plate is brand new and not typical plastic but carbon fiber so i don't feel like i should have to make a real expensive materiel like carbon fiber better it should of been done from the maker not me.if it was a $15 redcat gear plate i would reinforce it because it was plastic.this materiel does not hold up to the stress of the1/5 scale they need to make it out of metal...

Agree. the metal would have to be more durable. Thing is about the exotic materals- kevlar-carbon fiber-ect- Its much harder to get the correct materal to bond properly not enough heat-too much heat- brittleness- air bubbles- ect-ect. Metal is good-. Had my share if issues with carbon fiber skid plates on dirt bikes- bolts pulling tru- skid plate cracking- bla-bla- The road bike guys and doctors had issues with those carbon fiber road race gloves- the ones with reinforced knuclkles- on hard impacts to the pavement- the carbon shatters into tiny rods- jams right into the joints-- ouch! Just flushed the entire brake system on the ford van-- 1 1/2 quart tru it- Nice and clean system agan- now- its time for me to clean up.- gotta go--.the tub awaits.

Its always good to clean the cuts out with the brake fluid...lol...well gonna see what happens i'm hopeful though rcdad tries to stand behind his stuff even if doesn't make it...

Totally agree brand new product I shouldn't have to modify that's 200.00 and didn't last a day:mad:
