It reduces some rotating mass. It weighs less than the metal gears. It is much quieter than the gears. Has some cool factor as well. It's a nice hopup.
 
You may see a slight top speed improvement as it is a slightly higher ratio than the 29-31 gearing. It it the equivalent of 30-30 gearing.

That setup is a tad higher than the belt drive. Throw on a set of Baja wheels and the ratio goes up also.
 
Man I'm waiting for that 2 speed from demon but I'm starting to want one of this belt kits for my MT at the end I will probably get both adding them is almost 500 and I wanted to get an XT this is putting a hole in my pocket I guess I'll give up drinking and use that money ha ha
 
If Demon does not. It will only be a matter of time before someone else does. They are common for many other platforms now. So common that all the clone companies now have them also. Be patient guys you will see one!

Eventually we will but the Belt drive is the go.IMO. They even do a three speed now.
 
If set up with the right close ratios, and a 9500 rpm clutch spring, a three speed could wicked fast.
