Last night i was showing off the rampage to one of my neihbors. I turned on everything and of course my servos starting glitching like crazy. The throttle servo ( the one i just replaced from a traxxas car ) was the worse and the steering servo was just slightly doing it. My neihbor chuckled a bit and said " your $600 buggy is having a seizure". Being slighlty embarrased, i decided i would buy a new radio system and replace the throttle servo. I have spent all day looking and the more i look the harder the decision gets. I was just going to pick up a Futaba 3pm. I then started looking around and realized the 3pl was a 1/3 cheaper. Then before i know it i am looking at the 4pks......... I finally snapped back into reality and also looked at the Airtronics MX-3 and decided to stop there before i started seizing like my servos.

Which transmitter has the best bang for your buck right now? My price range is around $100 to start with. I can go up another $100 if the radio is worth the extra hundred. I am just a basher at the moment but would like to race sometime in the future. I am looking for

- In the $100 price range

- Feels good in your hand, not cheap feeling

- 3 channel

- Able to use on at least 3 diffrent cars

- Easy to operate

- 2.4 ghz ( not sure why, but it seems to be the most popular thing)

spektrum dx3e covers all your needs

just picked up the dx3e but still need parts before i run. tested and all worked well.

looks to be a good system. also a plus only uses 4 aa batt.

Did some more testing tonight and have narrowed down my glitching problem to the receiver or radio. I went ahead and purchased my killer bee and servos. I figured the killer bee would let me drive it while i decide on a radio. I was hoping I would find the $189 deal on the 4pl but didn't luck out then I missed a steal on eBay for a 3pm..... I looked at the spectrums a bit and noticed that there is alot of complaints about these. Kinda made me a bit skeptical.

There is another post where I mentioned this... IMO, best bang for the buck by far. Look at the link below.

I almost bought one of those today but I had already ordered my killer bee v2 which doesn't work for this radio. I kinda stuck myself with Futaba now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only difference between the V1 and the V2 kill switch is the ability to kill the engine with the third channel. So it would work with that radio, but in order to kill the engine you would have to turn off the transmitter.

I have a V2-S and I just purchased an Airtronics MX-Sport, and I'm confident it'll work with it. We'll see when it arrives, though.

I was going off of killer rc's site and it states that the airtroncs sport will not work with the v2. Also have read it in a few forums. By the way I picked up a Futaba 3pmx yesterday for $105. Go me!!!
