hi guys was just wondering what's the best carb to use with a 29cc convertion? i'm not havin any runnin problems i just wanted to know as i'm still runnin the standard carb that came bolted to the engine from new.

keep seein all these carbs on ebay 603 and the 813 but haven't a clue what the difference is :helpsmilie:

cheers btb will try one and see if theres any difference, as i say i have no runnin probs i just want the best out of the mods i've done :)

I have a FG MT with a ESP 30.5cc and a Dom pipe and I added the Walbro 813 carb and LOVE IT!! Wow that was the best upgrade for the money. So much more power off the line. Many people on the forums say that this carb is not for the big bore motors, but im here to say that its the best upgrade next to a good pipe. This carb does not have a choke but does have a primer bulb. I noticed that on a cold start if you prime it first that it tends to flood the motor. So I never prime before I start it now, a few pulls and starts right up every time. This carb takes away the low end bog off the line and replaces it with a waist high dirt and grass in the air!! Tuning is not any harder than any other carb. Small adjustments goes a long way with this carb. Maybe 1/16th at a time, then do a wide open throttle pass and then adjust again. I run 20:1 Ams Oil so I can lean it out and not risk lean seize the motor. All I can say is its a must upgrade!!

hi peeps sorry for sounding dumb but i've seen this carb on ebay and was wondering is this the 813 carb the guy said the part no is kcr067 and the numbers on the side are wt 813 611, i know it does say 813 but before i jump in with both feet and buy it i just thought i'd ask first :clown:

You going to use that on the 30.5 head?..Get the ADA alloy intake with teflon gaskets
you adjust the 813 carb just like any other carb...small adjustments....
That carb does not likr on/off throttle responce all the time or like blimming the throttle
cuz you can flood the engine....the 813 has a acl pump...not a diaphram like the other carbs......It will give better responce off the line....low end for bogs.....You have to pretty much stay full throttle most of the time.......Just my input here.....Slawhammer

thanks for all the advice slaw mate :cool2:

Hi all, i too was/am thinkin of purchasing a 813 carb but as i like bashing around on fields etc is it worth me getting 1 as Slaw has suggested they don't like on/off throttle running.
Is there a better carb than the standard 608 for jumping/bashing etc instead for top end speed, which the 813 seems to be designed for.

hi jackobyte i drive on bmx tracks and open fields which is as you say on and off throttle so if its guna cause floodin probs i think i'll just stick with the standard one :cool2: if theres a beta one then i'll consider it :cool2:

For what your running Ian,keep your 668A,not worth the hassle of an 813!
If you want to upgrade your head and bottom end and all the worries that go with the 813 then get one.Your pipe and wheels will do what you want it to do.We only bash on Flint castle and UPM(haven't for a while....engine killer!) I think your Hummer is fast enough!
Or....have a spare here!!!:clown::nono:..Hmm..... fancy a race???

I would say stay with the 688 carb for bashing....I have used 3 different carbs....
688....813....771..... The 771 has bigger internal jets....No Acl pump like the 813
Fussy to get tuned..but likes to be wot most of the time....The 771 carb is mainly used for the marine head set up.....I have read a few guys using a modified 603 that has been bore out for more air flow.........But for genreal use of bashing hadrd too beat the 668 carb.....there inexpensive to buy any way.......If you thought about rebuilding the 668 carb....the holes for the throttle shaft would be worn any way....the rebuild kit is 1/2 the cost of a new carb......My opinion..I would buy another carb..anf not rebuild..
Those carbs are like $35 USD new...........Just my thought here guys...Slaw

The more you read about these, the more it's about 50/50 opinions... the ONB motor I am looking at ordering has an 813. It'll be in an on road though g240
