Whatever oil you use i.e. Castor, Semi-Synthetic or fully Synthetic just make sure you don't mix the three over time in your engine. Pick one of the above and stay with it.

Choose an oil from a reputable manufacturer and you will be fine so long as you mix it in the correct way.

Or this.Used it for ages but keep having to change my engine every few weeks?:rolleyes:

I had NO IDEA when I started and simply popped into Halfords and picked up the 'best 2 stroke oil' I could find, which happened to be Castrol fully synthetic.
I'm not a racer, but I'm not a Trevor !! :lol::lol::lol:

When I'm home, I must use the Large Scales for at least one hour per week, perhaps more in good weather, long days.

i use pennzoil outboard 2 stroke oil and have no complaints everythign else has some issues

1. cost (youve got to be kidding me anywhere between 10 and 25.00 a quart)

2. color (well if you can see your tank during running and you want to color coordinate i guess this might be a selling point to you)

3. price (oh wait i said this already LOL

now with that said here is some tips i can point out for you.

if you are running a box stock engine ANY oil is fine provided you mix it in the correct ratio. IMHO there is no need to look for an edge in 2 cycle oil with a stock engine and if you plan to add a head kit to your engine chances are you might also be replacing all teh bearings and seals in the bottom end also so a good cleaning during rebuild and (the change of the seals) would make it the prime time to change oils.

what most people do not realize is that all of these companies lablng a 2cycle oil are buying the same stuff from the refineries (example: brand x and brand y both get thier oil from refinery C and both companies bottle the oil and slap their name brand label on it ) and the only thing that might make a change is WHAT REFINERY they bought their bulk oil from or the refinery gets a variation in the oil batch (this does not always apply to synthetic oils but some times it does). so with that said you may buy poulan weedeater oil, pennzoil outboard oil or some expensive brand and it could and some if not most of the time it is the same stuff.

peopel will argue, flame, and make comments without actually knowing the truth which is the only way to get a "quality oil is to go 100% pure synthetic and even then the manufacturer could change the formula which will change the oil)

i spent enough time around petroleum products in the military (that was my job) to know first hand.
