the left needle??? 2mm which direction?

cheers so to act dumb...

As Sperera says.

This might sound daft but have you got plenty of fuel in the tank, bear with me on this, the clunk filter in your tank can sit to one side, if this is so the engine will want to die as you take corners or even just a wobble of your steering. I did this on my V4 and it would seem to stutter/bog a little and this was with a 1/4 of fuel left in the tank. I sorted this by shortening the tube in the tank and re-connecting the clunk filter. Works great now.

Just a thought.

To richen the top or the bottom would be to turn the needle counter clockwise. Leftie loosie opens the needle to let more fuel in, top side of the screw going left.

i did the head gasket yesterday....now i cant get it to start...doesn't even sound like she wants to!!!!

thought it was flooded so pulled the plug las night and left to dry out.
this morning plug it back in n still nothin!

any ideas? im getting a good spark from the plug!

cheers

When doing the head gasket did the inside of the top end look unscratched and did the piston sides look good? If so, you may have a fuel deliver issue. Try putting a small amount of fuel in the spark hole and pulling it over. Make sure to start out with factory low and high needle settings. 11/4L and 11/2H will do. Make sure your choke is open and not closed when pulling the crap out of it. Make sure you push the primer bulb 3 times before attempting to start it. If after all that it still does not start check your spark plug and see if its dry or wet. If you have a severely flooded motor the fuel will sit int he bottom end and only after tipping the motor upside down with the spark plug out and pulling it over about 15 time will the fuel be removed from the bottom end.
Good luck and keep posting.

+1 to what btb said, turn choke on fully and screw the needles all the way in, prime it and if it pops then screw the needles back out, turn choke off and try again.
