well lads.

was just wondering what is the best tyre set up for on road with my fg beetle.

would a set of slicks be any good i wonder.
a lot of guys rekon for on road use to turn your off road tyres around the other way on the tread pattern that it does make for better on road grip.

i think a set of slicks would be cool to own for a second set of tyres and they look class.

any ideas for droping the ride height for onroad use apart from the obvious, drop shocks and body on the mounts.

its just for when im driving onroad and doing speed runs.
if you don't suggest slicks what any other good tyres?

im not sure about the slicks. it may be too slippery on dusty pavement. also it takes some time for them to warm up.. im thinking a set of the stadium tires would be better, but cant really say. (smaller tires will lower your top end). as far as lowering? you could add some fuel line to the inside of the shock body(around shock shaft) but thats alot of shocks to take apart.

for on road the truck slicks are good or try the monster slicks...or a mix but they'll spin like crazy on any dust...to lower your ride height and to stiffen it up you want the alloy adjustable shocks with short on road springs and run the anti roll bar...an adjustable diff is a bonus too.
Here's a pic of my baja with slicks before it's last upgrade surgery
