Using my compressor last night and air gun to blow some water off the baja chassis after a complete strip down and clean.

My son wanted to help, he's seven, so no worries, told him what I wanted done and off he went happily helping.

I noticed he was starting in the centre and blowing everywhere, so I grabbed the gun off him and told him to start at one end and work way down. Not two seconds after I pulled it out of his hand and pulled the trigger the gun exploded in my hand. Somethings given in the trigger part and it shot the trigger accross the room at a ferocious rate.

No one hurt but could have been bad. I took it back to Bunnings today to be told thats the only gun they stock and they've heard of it happening. One of those things unfortunatly that nothing will get done until someone gets hurt.

Went to Bursons and bought a good quality gun. Only a few bucks more but the quality difference is easy to see.

no but i haven't thrown out the broken bits, its a trigger failure but because of all the air pressure it just shot bits across my garage at a million miles an hour.

I guess it was a good thing you had to show junior how to do it properly, because by the sound of it, he would have taken the shot and it may have scared him enough to to cause him to become shy of garage stuff. That would suck!

little blue handled gun? I use them a lot auto detailing. they are cheap. I use the air to clean my buffing pads. was polishing a vehicle a few weeks back and hung the gun by the trigger. I bumped the hose while working and it fell to the concrete floor. the handle snapped. the garage has serious pressure too LOL. I was jumping and trying to step on the hose while the blue serpent attacked me with ferocity.

dam lucky it didn't happen to the kid.

true that mate, my son is generally causious about everything so the last thing I want is for him to loose confidence in my garage.

not realy happy bunnings arnt taking this serious though, its only a matter of time before someone gets hurt with this, especially since theyve seen the same product faul before.

Don't know what it's called in your end of the world, but an email to the better business bureau is in order. selling something you know is going to fail and possibly dangerous is bad business in my books

Bet if you told them you were hurt in the incedent the reply would be greatly different. Why do they wait until someone gets hurt?

Thank goodness YOU didn't show him the correct way the 1st time.
