Just had a look at BTB's profile & he was last on here on 17th March. Maybe he has gone away for a couple of weeks holiday

I took on a "small home project" you know the ones that turn into big projects".

My wife and I decided it was time to upgrade the craft room. We thought it over and thought we mine as well change the old Berber carpet in the basement at the same time.
I now remember why I can't stand half ash work!
We removed the carpet to find the carpet tack was dry rotten from water in the basement from before the drain tile was added. We also found after removing the wood paneling that runs the outside block (To get back to the sheet rock) wall that they just cut up the sheet rock 8" to drain tile and paneled over it. We also found they didn't insulate the wall or block well. We found the two windows were rotten. I found that all the wood ledge was made of laminated particle board and when removing it broke cracked and exploded at the nails.

It was supposed to be so simple. Fix the craft room and re carpet. Two weeks max. YA RIGHT!! I am just know finishing a few of the trimmings and getting some time to do some of my fun stuff.

I now have a new basement and a big dent in my credit card....

By the way, if any of you stain or polyurethane inside your home. When you use a gas appliance it will burn out some of the chemical in the air. Harmless but your clothes will smell horribly burnt and need to be rewashed. :(

Thank you for the concern.

That bites BTB, at least you found the stuff now rather than later on. I figured you were coaching a soccer team or something for little league.

Aww man just what I wanted to here BTB - and here I am thinking about buying my first house!!

Glad you're back man.
