I've been searching several places for an answer to this question with no luck. It seems this question is taboo and never seems to get a response.

I'm looking to change bodies on my X4. I'm curious if anyone knows of some aftermarket bodies that fit? Maybe some of the FG bodies? I'm looking for a hatchback, possibly Citroen, or a Focus body. From my understanding many of the sedan bodies wont fit due to the upright motor and roll cage.

From what I can gather the wheel wells never match up right between FG and MCD either width, or tire diameter issues. So are there adapters out there that will allow us to use FG wheels to account for the offset or the tire height issues?

There are a few shells that should fit from mcd line.. The x4 is long wheelbase...535mm

Ford focus wrc
Citroen xsara wrc
Mitsubishi evo 7
And of course the original x4 body which with a good paint job actualy looks quite good.

My mcd rally will be arriving this week so I'm hunting for shell options also.. Did want the Subaru wrc but it's the wrong size for this car!! Why won't these company's make more shells!!!!!!!!!

We have under construction the Prototype Audi for MCD X4...!!!:cup-1:
This Body will be made with the best Polycarbonate on the world,
the HQ Polycarbonate Bayer Makrolon 2mm!!!
We start the CNC modeling at the end of the month because we are finishing the body 5SC-G Evo 2...so stay tuned ;)

The early MCD rally shells you mention won't fit the X4 without cutting away quite a bit of the wheelarch, which on some models like the Focus and Xsara doesn't really work.

This is because the X4 wheels are quite a bit bigger diameter, and the early Rally wheels won't fit even if the stub axles are changed as the hubs are too big.

I have an X4 (I'm selling soon) and now an early Rally (I'm keeping as I think its better). I have the Focus and Xsara shells for the Rally.

That said, the X4 shell can be made to look different with the right paint job.

Thanks for the info IVE... Saves me a bit of time and money finding that out for myself! I know what you mean about the older models.. I was tempted my self to buy a 510mm with lancia shell. If I get bored of the x4 I will sell and get an older model.. It just depends how well it drifts! Might even sell my Fg on road and get one of each.. Iv spent ages building my Fg but if your not racing at a track or with friends I find I don't use it as much as I should for the money it's cost me.

Don't get sucked in by his marketing tactics guys...

He is still scamming people even now..

Out of 150 bodies that came to Australia and smashed apart, he has replaced 5..
He always denied that there was problems with the old shells. Yet he changed the material..Suspicious much?

Just beware of this guy and hope you NEVER need to ask for warranty..
Personally, I got my replacement shell the other week and sold it straight away..
I will not be involved with someone that treated us Australians this way.

I couldn't care less about the quality of the new shells and will never ever deal with him again because of his total lack of respect for his customers.

AGAIN BUYER BEWARE!!

I will gladly answer any questions about what I know.
ASk him a serious question and see what response you get.
Usually a standard copy and paste reply.

I would like to know, WHY, in the whole world there is only 1 idiot that is supports Grafail.
He claims that 99.9% of his customers are happy ones..
Do they live under rocks?
Not 1 of these so called happy customers has come out to support his sh!t..

think yourself lucky my post about them being jelly moulds and the fact they all look the same with poor window shapes and me begging him not to tarnish fg's by making shells for them has vanished lol

A reply from one of our clients...in rod we trust

"gee the number gets higher every time ..

doubt there's 150 sold in aus..

i know of about 30 or so sold to us ..and maybe at the most aus wide 50 tops

grafil sent the rest of the 5bg evo 2 shell's to the bloke who organised the buy..

i have tried one racing and bashing.. they hold up well thru all the racing and bashing i have thrown at it..and the rollovers , roof landings.etc

so don't know why you quoted just that post only..

i'll give them a second chance no probs.. lifes too short to hold grudges..

as far as i'm concerned . they have improved there quality .
and all people, and companys make mistakes , at least they are trying to make right..

people will read on how these new shell's hold up.. and make there own minds up

sure some are still upset about there first shell's and thats fair enough.
but you got to at least give them a chance to make good.

i know if i messed up or anybody for that matter would like a second chance.. if people didn't give second chances . the whole world would be at war. and everybody would be walking around shooting each other .

ha ha i take it you don't watch much tv the world is at war lol and people are walking around shooting each other poop there even stabing each other for less than getting a poor quality bodyshell
