The motor was bogging at full throttle for a couple of passes then it stopped running. By full throttle i mean once it hit top speed. I just put an x- can and belt drive on this weekend, not sure if that would require needle adjustments. Also should the truck roll freely with the belt drive on. I push it about 2 ft and thats all she roll.

We just had a post just about the same thing. Check your fuel pickup in the tank make shure it`s sitting in the recess in the bottom of the tank.Make shure your belt tensioner nut is not over tightened, make shure your lay shaft is not missaligned.

The bogging may be caused by the fuel filter sucking air.The belt cant be to tight only the tensioner nut,if the nut is to tight it will cause the tensioner not to spin freely thusly making it seem the belt is to tight.

You must also pay attention to the aluminum pulley on the lay shaft. If you tighten the nut too far you will pull the shaft through the pulley causing miss alignment of your center diff.

This also can happen with the factory gears. You should be able to push/pull the pulley in and out a little bit.
