Boiling to rejuvenate old plastic parts?

Has anybody heard of or done this to their plastic parts, Ive been told that this rejuvenates old plastic parts, on some of the old models I have (from the 80's)the plastic is brittle and was told to boil the parts. If it works I would boil the new parts

I've heard of it, but never tried it. I doubt it would do any good.

We were doing that with the V1s but haven;t heard of anyone having to do it now.

well I don't know if it will help but I boiled the gear set today for about 15 min, so I'll see how long they last, hope to start breaking it in tomorrow.

Boiling the a-arms makes them more flexible. Boiling hte gears will probalby make them mushy.

I hope not but since I have the spare set I thought it was worth a try before I buy the steel gears

3 tanks so far and no wear issues, I have pulled the cover and checked and lightly oiled after each tank will continue this process untill they go out.
