So I had this happen before and I fixed it but now with the jetpro pure torque power, it seems to be a constant problem.

I don't know my terminology but I'm ready to learn it.

Basically it's like I'm get stuck in neutral. I beleive that it's those two alan key bolts that are located under the brake pades. I've locked them down as tight as I can but as soon as I give her some full power, she slips and I'm stuck in neutral. They are not backing off, this I'm pretty sure of

It's getting frustrating as I fixed it three times yesterday and it just happened again today :(

What's the fix on this one boys?

Heavy forget the "one piece layshaft" theirs currenly no company that makes them, demonrc is coming out with a one piece layshaft but they will not work with the mt/tt now you said you locked the grub screws all the wayy down thats the problem those grub screws if they are screwed all the way down it will cause your brake to stay locked up, try to back the grub screws out out alittle bit till you get it set you want the brake to engage but not stay engaged all the time you can adjust the play with the grub screws, try it and let us know if it works.

just buy Demon's RC belt drive system. you just don't get rid of the noisy gears and their added rotating mass but also get a much better one piece shaft. his link is on the left icons on this page. just check it out.

It will still roll, it's not the brakes locking up.

I'll try to make a video

oh I see you stripped your layshaft the grub screws on the break hub arnt holding theirs 3 solutions

#1. Buy new stock layshaft and brake hub and replace everythingwith stock.

#2.wait for demon rc belt drve gearplate (they addressed the layshaft issue and have came up with a solid solution)

#3. Buy new layshaft, and try and find the steel brake hub that was available in limited quantities .

So if I buy this:

I'm worried it'll just happen again really quickly.

When will demon rc's belt drive system come out?

Edit---ok I see demon's belt drive system. Avaialble in the fall? I'm going to guess that they meant last fall and things are slow right?

The steel layshaft definitly helps, the aluminum one wears,& gets hot and the grub screws loosen, I havnt found anybody in the states that sells them, the demon rc belt drive has a one piece layshaft taking care of that problem and also other issue swe all been having with the gearplate and brakes.

Oh ya, I see the "fall" is mentioned on the product page and the front page says otherwise. We would have had it out in the fall if I would stop waking up in the middle of the night, pacing the driveway while chainsmoking, and then hopping on the computer to make revisions. Somebody send me a case of Sominex and I'll promise to have it out soon LMAO.

Rob I missed the lasts shipment of steel brake hubs you had in stock, if you do get them let me knowif you get any in stock I could reaaly use one I don't like buying outside of the usa too many loopholes and waiting customs u know how it is.

set screws

what I'm finding is that the set screws are to soft not backing off, pull the set screws out and look at the bottoms and see if they flatened, also I found that the threads werent all the way thru and it felt like it was tight but wasn't, I've been replacing these as needed and it seems to be working for me.

Hey all, I have a class tonight so just here for a quick post before I have to run out. I tightened them down and again and went out for a test run. She goes fine until I 'give'er' and that's when I hit neutral. It did give me a chance to fine tune my motor though ;)

Anyways, it seems that even though the grub screws are tight, what's happening is that the hole piece slides out to the side. My plastic gear cover is getting shredded from this problem.

I wish I could just drill holes so that the grub screws could actually settle into the layshaft, that seems like a good idea to me. I don't have a vice though and I'm not sure if it will work out by hand.

I ordered the steel parts from vancouver hobbies for now. We'll see how that goes.
