I got really bored the other day:blush:
And decided to make all the orange bits on my baja............not orange anymore !!
What do you guys think ??

Thats looking awesome Rossco. Im guessing it aint going on the track out back for a little while LOL

Engine side cover has come up real nice and I like what youve done with the area up front that covers the servo saver. Very nice. :)
 
Hey Rossco...you read my mind....since my baja will be down waiting on parts I thought it would be the best time to paint up my new body , undertray and rim shields..and get rid of that ugly ORANGE...I cant stand it anymore..lol.

When I went out tonight trying to get parts , I stopped and got a gallon of "Greased Lightning" and tomorrow I will be making the orange go away.

After you washed your parts in clean water...did you polish them ? wax them ? or what because they look very nice and would love to know how you went about making them look so great .

I tried all sorts of superdooper degreasers, coustic soda & even sulphuric acid,
but none of them worked to my liking.

So it was time to do it the old fashioned way,,,,,orbital sander & needle files!!!

Starting with 80 grit, down to 120,240,380,800,1200,,,,then a buff in a drill with a shite load of AUTOSOL mag wheel polish!!!!
 
If there is a company local to you that anodises aluminium they would probably dip them for you for free if you ask nicely :)

There's nothing like that locally, have to drive for an hour or so and put up with bullshit traffic in Melbourne!
It was quicker to do it the way I did.
I hate the city anyway!

I am with you on that one. I just changed part time jobs to avoid the city. what used to be an hour plus drive each way is now 6 mins. I work harder but no more city drive... Had 2 cars totalled by drunk drivers in the city, one head on, other rear ended. During Molson Indy I watched a Viper pass in front of me at Mach 1 and slam through a building... drunk drivers really bug me.. that was a close call. if I had moved 4 feet into the intersection, it would have been me but I heard the viper coming...
 
i was so happy and still am when I got my current job outside of the city. All my jobs before this one were in the CBD. not a fan of public transport but not paying $15 a day plus for parking.

now im twenty mins from home, free parking, couldnt be happier.
