Has anyone noticed when installing the rear shocks. The shock cap on the bottom of shock rubs the lower control arm bad. Could this be causing my shock shafts to break right were they screw into the shaft?? I thought about dremeling the lower control arm a bit but don't wanna weaken it.

i don't see what you meen. i just checked and didnt see anything rubbing on the front or rear. i think the rears break couse they are on an outward angle, so when the shock has too much restance it just bucles.. plus they are of slightly less quality., but i don't see anything rubbing

The HPI's rub and why not Dremmel the arms you got plenty of spares from the 4 upgrade kits you bought :D for the dif cups.

Yes the lower spring retainers they rub the lower control arm. When you have the shock mounted at the bottom with hex screw and you go to install it on the shock tower it actually deforms the spring on the botttom. Ill have to experiment with my camera ive never posted a pic on a forum before

Ahh sorry if i actually red the comments i would see the hpi shafts rub.Yes they are the hpi shafts why do the hpi shafts rub and red cats don't ?

probably because the actually shock end itself (platic part) is shorter, causing the shock cup to sit lower..

i don't have mine yet, ordering tonight.... did you use front hpi shafts for the rear and front?

Lets see i always get confused we use the font hpi shafts for front and rear have to put limiters on all 4 though i use hard fuel line like for automobiles

Your dead on there.

I'll write up a comparision and stick up pics in a guide in a minute. I got a picture of all 3 shafts types, both retainers, and 3 shaft ends all put together.
