ive just had this very problem, and i bodged it with acouple of elastic bands, to keep the rod down, and returning to neutral postion. this was just to keep me going tho the day but if you wanna fix it keep reading (skip to *** for short explination)im guessing your brake has alot of travel? if so, you need to ajust the 2 grub screws tucked away between the center diff and braking bearing holder(there hard to see and hard to get to but there, there, easyest way is to take off your electrics box completly and you can just about get to the grub screws with a long allenkey), this will ajust how close your brake pads sit to the cam, making you brakes more responcive, and less braking travel. (you will need to ajust your servos esp's after you do this)
the reason the brake cam was poping out, is because its turning to much, you will see there are 2 groves in the braking cam, they only lock the cam inplace when the pads are close enuff to stop the cam from turning to much and unlocking its self.
***In short, The pads are to loose to hold the cam inplace, move them closer with the 2 ajusting grub screws
im not the best at explaining but you will see what i mean when you have a look
