Been having a small issue with rotors not sitting well on spindle/axle since day one of installing hydraulic front brake kit. Rotors want to slide off hex whether l use extension or hpi upgraded ones. I am running the hpi upgraded ones because they eliminated the c-clip and bolt on instead. So one rotor finally rounded out the hex so it was just floating around. Didn't know if you can just buy rotors which apparently you can after searching the websites. Noticed some kits have a bolt on hub/rotor deal. Since l have a detroit rc rear brake kit installed l have a spare rear rotors, stock rovan......What a coincidence that everything will line up from hexs to holes to solve my situation. I did completely round out both rotors for clearance and the wheels need some trimming for the nuts . Used 3mm socket heads and nylock nuts.Being that the hex in the rotors is eliminated you might be able to position the bolts so the wheel doesn't need trimming but as always this was my first solution and could be refined.

I haven't even got far enough in with mine yet to find brake failures.

They absolutely work but even after rebuilding them before my first run this year and using sealant on all connections I found air in the lines. I smashed the engine in a gnarly flop on its lid and am still "in progress" of fixing that. Those look exactly like mine, what kids did you buy to replace the rotors?

The kit was around 80 bucks on Amazon. The rear kit is from Detroit rc. It includes pads and rotors so that is why l used the stock rovan rear rotors. The kit from Amazon even includes axle extensions but they are retained with e-clips on the front which was the weak point of the original hpi baja. That's why they upgraded to the bolt on style. I think l got mine from fearless rc and they came in hpi package. When bleeding you need the syringe full of fluid, l used primal rc 100cs shock fluid. Screw it into the master cylinder and open both calipers bleeders. Push fluid out of both sides and tighten when air bubbles are not visible. Keep front wheels up a bit to make it easier. Been a year and l haven't had to rebleed or add fluid. I did eliminate all the rubber o-ring seals except for the push rod and calipers and just put some super glue on threads or the thing would just pull air in every where. I think the bug infestation in pa thread explained it. As for replacement rotors just flipped through all the sites and one showed just rotors for around 50 bucks. But for that much might just be better off to just buy a new kit. Was curious if I could just fix it and that's what l did.
