HI All,

I am having this stupid problem with my brakes.. whenever i break, the engine would switch off.. I can achieve full throttle, i can ideal,,, i can also break... but every-time the engine would switch off. even with a slights break.....

Any suggestions.. this is frustrating...

Thanks

Seems that you need to set your brake/throttle end points, you must have it too tight pulling towards the brake side, you first need to set it so it idles ok.

Post some pics or better still a vid of whats going on.

HI tony,

I increased the ideal to the max, problem fixed... wow.. that was easy... but why did i need to do that.. what happened to the ideal screw to begin with.. everything used to work at the old ideal settings.. any idea why...
Thanks a million guys..

when you hit the brakes, it pulls the throtle linkage back as well, this closes the butterfly in the carb throat. when its closed off enough, it limits air flow at idle. air flow gets too low, motor shuts off.

turning up the idle screw, adjust the point at where the butterfly plate can close too. so it keeps the plate open enough to allow air to flow.

basically the idle screw is a STOPPER to stop the throtle plate too far, thus cutting the motor.

+1 Timahh.
Basically, carefully remove the servo horn for your throttle / layshaft brake (if you have that) and align the carburettor horn to be closed with the servo in the rest position ...

For that, with the servo horn removed, switch on your Tx / Rx and then position things as they should be.
You may have to adjust your brake after this.

If you do this, and have adjusted the idle to max, you will probably have to reduce it. It's not normal to have to turn the idle up that far.
