Brake pads??

If you discs have any thickness left on the just adjust the adjustment screws to "tighten" up the travel on the brakes. This will take up any slack from the discs thinning out. Alot of the time those screws will back out after a while and you don't have any brakes at all. Use longer setscrews with red locktite to fix that problem.

They are two on the inside gear bulkhead which are used as a backstop for the inside brake pad. They always backout and kill the braking.

Are there any Brake ideas out there? Don't mean to jack this thread. But as long as we are talking brakes????? I'm trying to get back into my redcat. But the brakes are killing me! I did just replace the aluminum hex with the steel one but the brakes IMO are a pretty weak part. This part of my redcat has been a problem since I got it. Everytime it was down it was for something in that setup! Any help would be great. Thanks

I had a problem with the copper bushings on the brake post go bad. That is the only problem I have had with the brakes. Was thinking about trying to get some small bearings to replace them other than that the set up has worked well for me .

Thanks. The bushings are the only part I haven't had a problem with..... :D

Well I ordered another complete setup and try again. Maybe it was the old aluminum hex??? We will see!
