brakes not grabbing

hi guys 2 weaks ago i ran mine tt the brakes were working fine i wnt to run it last week and i had noithing when i applay them i can see the cam turning and pusing the metal pad over put it not getting presure on the disk, has enyone had this happen before and what do i have to do to fix it. thanks brian
 
Lots of things to check.


1) is the center hex of the brake disc shot? The center if the brake disc is "keyed" onto the D shaft.


2) have the grub screws of the d shaft got loose? A loose screw makes it a 2 piece shaft.


3) is your servo shot? Try braking by hand to see if you can lock it up tight.


4) is your brake pads/disc clean


5) is you linkage set stops still set correctly? sometimes they move


6) radio settings? EPA and so forth


thats all I got now. Id start by rolling it on the floor and braking by hand so you can see and listen
 
try adjusting the brake screws(two small allen grubs) that are buried under the top plate that connects the trans to the center dif. Pain in the but but might work.

That's what happened to mine. Those two screws needed adjusting. You're right, pain in the butt getting to them without taking everything apart but with a little patience it was done... :D
 
no we are talking about the bearing plate the d shaft runs through. there are two grub screws in that plate that push against the brake shoe. hard to see and even harder to adjust. but like Evil said.......Patience grasshopper;)
 
ok found the prob one of the grub screws was missing does enyone know what size they are im going to begoing to the hobby shop later and pick some up
 
I believe it is an M4X6. Go to lowes they are cheaper there. While there pick up some extras of other sizes you may need down the line. I built a kit for under 10 bucks for my cat from lowes.
