Ok this has happened a few times. My breaks are not biting. Its not the rod adjustment. For some reason they grab sometimes and sometimes they don't. obviously its something going on with the installation. ANyone have close up pics of there working brakes so I can try to compare to mine and resolve this issue. thanks

there are two grub screws that hold the inner pad close to the disc that like to loosen up and back out or in. check them out

Those grub screws also need to be adjusted as your disc ware out, also put a dab of thread-lock on them to hold them in place...

Problem resolved. I used a small zip tie to push the metal plates a little closer to each other. Brakes now bite :) . Guess pads were worn down. Thanks for help

If you adjust the two grub screws you don't need the zip ties; its the break disc that's wearing out not the pads.

I smoked my disc a few times; smell like crap when the smoke...

Brakes

maybe im not getting what you guys are saying. The 2 grub screws where the discs are mounted on?? They are both tight. the problem is there is to much space between the discs and plates.

Grub screw size?

i found it. those are really hidden in there. one of them backed out, however i was able to adjust the bottom one. brakes bite now. Anyone know what size the grubs are??

Sweet,
50111 Hex Head Grub Screw(5*10) 4PCS
In a pinch Home D or Lowes sells metric "set screws" in the metal drawers in the screw / bolt / nail aisle and I have seen 5x10's as well as 5x5 & 6x6 also used in the truck...
