How come some cars have breather pipes & some don't (such as my FG marder)? Mine works fine without 1 so just wondering why. Also just read a post from Reggy72 where his Stevo engine possibly lean seized due to tank vacuum, would this be due to it pulling fuel through the 990 carb quicker than a 668 carb?? I don't have a clue on this so your knowledge is much appreciated :D

Hi Andy,

Doesn't the stock cap have a couple of holes in it for that very purpose?

No idea but I'd have thought a 990 would run richer on 'same settings' than a boggo. I had to lean in my 813 cf the old 603; 1.25 became approx. 1.1.

stock marders got one small hole and a one way valve in the cap the older sportsline tank fitted to my on road and some marders and older leopards has a large pipe as its vent

not had any issues with my 990 carb and the bugs running perfect with a good healthy plug colour
