I was looking at my truck last night and found out that I had snapped a shock shaft at the top of the threads, and its also slightly bent. I think it happened when I went off a small jump Saturday night. I can't say that the stock shafts are weak because the front shock springs are too short, and might have contributed to the break. I received my Ramtech springs today, and ordered PhatDad shafts last night. Anyone else have these shafts yet?

I have two shocks that look just like that!!!! now using modified shocks off a 1/4 scale grand national I have... until those break its all good...when that much weight fly's, it lands real hard...just gravity doin its thing

Anyone have the Hpi part numbers needed to do 4 redcat shocks with hpi shafts/parts?or should i just get four front hpi 5B complete shocks?

Great so just gut the stock redcat shocks and install these? Thanks no shock repair available yet at rampage hopups,so gotta do this.rc

I thought so. You will have to transfer the lower ball ends. I used my vice. You might also want to add 5 mm of fuel tubing to the shaft to prevent full extension.

I have the phatdad shafts myself. very nice.... and they are 5mm shorter than the stock ones so actually limit the travel a bit to avoid the binding in the dogbones.

im going to have to get phat dad shafts ive broke 3 shafts in a month now & i haven't jumped it for fear of breaking a shaft

kaz.. I just did the swap.. but I had to put a short piece of fuel tubing on the shock shaft at the top or the piston screw wouldnt tighten down correctly on the piston is this what u did?
