Got a little squirrely with my ramp last night. After finally getting my servos installed and gettin it back up and running, I took it to work and ran it in the parking lot after closing time. I'm still not used to having brakes, and it's hard for me to make myself "point" when I want to stop. I keep catching my self tryin to slide to a stop by whipping it around sideways.

Well, that didn't work last night. Whipped it around and ended up just rolling backwards into a curb...HARD. This is what I broke:

It hit so hard, it not only broke the screw bosses on the rear diff, but it actually sheared the little pins off the bottom of the holder that fit into the chasis. Didn't have my camera handy, so no pics, but I'll try to snap some before I get it back out.

Drilled a couple holes in the holder where the pins used to be, screwed it to the chasis and all is well now :D I think it might actually be a little stronger now. Thankfully it only broke the outer part of the screw bosses on the diff, but the diff is fine...

While I had it torn apart, I installed a chrome fan cover and pull start.

Seems I'm turning screws more often than I'm turning tires lol But working on it is almost as fun and breaking it

Ron E, I'm not gonna stop 'til it's strong enough to work for Brinks lol I want this thing to drive through a brick wall and throw a rooster tail of mortar in the air :D If I can just teach myself to drive I'll have it made haha

Your right Obeast, nearly 40 lbs stopping dead like that is bound to break something. I cringed when it hit, was almost afraid to look at the damage... I'm just glad it was fixable and I didn't have to replace any parts.

On a positive note, the Rhino steering servos are boss. They throw those big MT wheels around like rag dolls! I was so frazzled at the crash though, I forgot to even try out my 3rd chan killswitch...

If you have MT bumpers/skids on you vehicle you can do the supsoension hinge mod and the skid mod. Run screws/nuts through the 3 holes on the skid.

Keep working the bugs out. It seemed like I had to work on my MT for the first month to get all the bugs worked out so that it is reliable. But what I have now is a hell of a big RC monster truck that people stop and watch. And about the only parts I break anymore are rear diff cups...(where it is crossed drilled and the pin goes in). Other than that, mine is a blast. Keep working those bugs out and it will be worth it.

Heres a better picture with all 5 of the holes that can be strengthened with a long screw and nut circled in red. The MT has 5 on the front and rear the TT has less unless your using the MT skid/bumpers.
