The Savage 5T is coming! It has the XL 5.9 3.75HP engine almost 40k rpm. 3 speed transmission. 5T body/wheels/tires. I am thinking brushless conversion. Kershaw Designs has nitro savage brushless motor mounts so the 3 speed could possibly be reatained. Kershaw also has a direct drive that might work too. Castle Creations 2200kv 1/8 system is claimed to be capable of 5-6 HP +huge torque. It probably would work in the Savage 5T because its really a stretched 1/8 Savage with 5T body/wheels/tires. So it is super light and a 3 speed. Their are more powerful motors than that too. This very well could be the first reliable, fast, brushless, 1/5 brushless 4wd! I am afraid to see the price though......If this can be converted to brushless it will outperform all of the brushless 1/5 conversions some people are trying.

Does anyone know when this is coming out? I currently own: 1/16 Erevo vxl, 1/8 Erevo Brushless, E8ight T, E 8ight B, and 2 Rampages. I want: Brushless Savage 5t, Ofna 1/10 4x4 short course brushless, SC8 brushless. Im thinking sell both Erevos, convert the E 8ight B to short course, and get the E savage 5t, and forget the ofna. Im so impatient though.

Is that how much they are in the UK? I don't think they would sell many in the US for 1,000 dollars! Not to mention kershaw designs already has stretched TVP plates to make current savages into 1/6 scales. I found some homemade UK brushless Savage 5t conversions that looked promising though. Yeah the Savage 5T is recycled but into something new-not just an updated version of something old. Short course (HPI blitz, Losi strike, Traxxas slayer/slash, Ofna hyper sc, Associated sc10/sc8, robitronic) are all built off of old platforms but recycled into something fresh and desireable. They usually start as 1/10 trucks or 1/8 buggies or monster trucks but turn into SCs with basically just a middle chassis, body, and shock towers.

TCS Crawlers flux 5t kit just came out. Its only $149.99. It looks pretty cool. It says it was designed with 6s lipo power in mind. I have seen savage flux RTRs on ebay under 500. I am sure you can put a 3 speed in the flux too as I previously mentioned. I wonder if the new TT body with the top cut out would fit over this.
