Built in Fail Safes.... Can They Be Trusted?

This is kind of a 2 part question. Right now I'm not running a (external) fail safe. Both my transmitter and servo have breaking presets that work when connection with transmitter and receiver is lost and I assume batt voltage drops. Lost link tested and works...... Recently been dealing with some motor interference issues and the built in FS's haven't been activating during this issue.


#1- Can these built in FS's be trusted?
&
#2- Will the Killer RC Super Bee kill the motor during a motor interference issue?
 
1. Up to a certain point which is basically having a battery with enough charge to drive the servos and the servos are functioning properly and the rx is "smart" enough to activate fail safe at the proper time.

2. I haven't tested this scenario but I'm going to go on a limb and say yes because the superbee will kill the engine during radio glitches. Regardless it is an item worth spending the money on.
 
@MonsterAir a failsafe won't help if the battery dies, linkage binds, servo gets stuck open or goes out. Because of that I highly recommend a @Killer RC kill switch.

If your radio gear has a built in failsafe that's just additional protection and certainly doesn't hurt, but at the very least you are MUCH better off with the kill switch.

Thanks guys! I've been spending so much $$$ lately I just was looking for a reason not to spend more. I guess in reality w/ out the Super Bee I'm looking to spend a lot more lol. Thanks again.

I know what you mean about spending @MonsterAir, but honestly the kill switch should be the first thing every large scale rc owner should by before any other hopup.

My kill switch ( Not a Killer Bee ) always kept killing my engine and I didn't know why.

One day I disconnected and run my Baja with without it, bad idea.... it turned out my throttle servo had gone bad and was going WOT.... it died 5 minutes later.

So yes,kill switches do work!!
