Hey guys… Long time lurker and first time poster and just wanted an opinion on a new KM purchase.
I was thinking of getting the Baja model off of eBay. I know there are a few different versions listed and was curious to know (without reading the endless articles off Google) on what is the best model to purchase. What is a reputable seller ETC… Maybe some initial purchase items and advice before running this?
I currently have a T Max 2.5, 4 Tec and a few misc engines and items so I am not an idiot with RCs and just want some opinions.. Thanks
Also if anyone is interested in trading a computer for a KM please let me know. I have a Power Mac G4 Dual 800 MHZ with a matching LCD. (Older yes … but works and is a great second or learner computer) I also have an Acer laptop Celeron 2GHZ 64BIT 1GB RAM 120 GB Drive. Also have a .40 engine with a Trainer plane that is still in the box, both plane and engine never used.
Let me know.
Thank you
Dave

hi dave the k,m buggys are all good and come with a lot of upgrades as standard if you want to keep it simple go for a single speed model the k,m 2.0 alloy there is issues with the pull starts being weak, and the servo,s burning out but wait till they go then upgrade. you,ll never go back to a nitro lol

Thank you for the quick reply. So you think the Single speed 2.0 Alloy model would be a better fit than the 3.0 with 2 speed I think ? (is there another one as well)

Makes sense and just might take your advice.

Dave

i forgot about the 3.0 lol, thats nice aswell i just think the 2 speed is one more thing to go wrong. is there a 3.0 single speed?

i only have experince with one 2 speed and it gave me trouble from day one.. I would stay away from the all alluminum ones. but thats my opinion. i don't know your budget but I know the v3 is about 1250.00 i have one for sale in the market place that is as durabile as it gets for brand new..the price is a little more but IMO a much better deal . and it lighter 23.03LBS , and its not exactly a km it has a km chassis, radio box, fuel tank, radio and servos ,comes with used sfl 10 steering servo also. the rest is upgrades or HPI parts alot of xtras too.

km

i bought a used one, kmrc 1000, and it hd a few upgraded aluminum pets on it. it has served me well and i would say you could do well with used if you are careful. i have heard a lot of negative comments about the 2 speed. a lot of advice have seen on the forums is buy it as inexpensively as you can and build it the way you want it. that's for the most part what i did.

this is what i am doing as well. i bought a new ksrc 001 and have upgraded it the way i wanted , and i have still spent less then a hpi baja new

hi buddy, the km baja is a great little buggy imo, they are fun to bash with ya mates etc, and make sure you get a dom copy or something to give it the poke it needs as the chasiss is pretty good.they seem to have weak points and there seemed to be a fair bit of play on front arms etc, but its a fair price for what you get.i got one that had only done 2 hours or so,as my friend needed the cash,so i definatly thought it was worth it lol,.
