Hey guys I am buying a Vesla from a guy that needed to sell his and he was going to build it gas but I have always been an electric guy. However I do think it would be pretty sick to have both. I have absolutely no knowledge when it comes to gas but I'm a bit torn. I know a lot of you like gas, anyone run both and have opinions? Power difference?

I was spoiled by my 8S Losi 5R back in 2015-2016. LOVED that RC and moved into the 2nd spot of my all-time favorites.

When i got back into RC this year i wanted an electric no question and also wanted to try the Gas thing simply for the run time. If i hated it i could convert it to Electric. I learned the electric technology was up to 12S so bought on pre-order a Kraken Vekta 5E. Got tired of waiting so i got a lean used Kraken Vekta TT. I blew that apart for yearly maintenance and got tired of working on it and saw the Kraken Vesla in both electric and Gas. Wanted to build a Sand Buggy as i go to the desert so i chose the gas version and working on that now. I am keeping my eyes peeled for Losi 5T 2.0 but likely when the time comes to commit i will just go with a MCD.

I am very very fortunate that i can afford all 3 and everything that comes with it. If you can afford it i would say go for it.

Yeah honestly my biggest issue with gas is the noise. I get that some people love it but man oh man I was out at my local park with a guy that had a gas 1/5 and you're damn near yelling at each other when it's ripping around. If it weren't for that I would certainly do it. And yeah a $2,000+ Taylor motor doesn't help lol

I am currently converting my Vesla from electric to gas. I am putting an ESP race ported/modified 34cc with a Victory RC unsilenced pipe in it. I'll post on here and let you know how fast it goes. I feel like it will be plenty satisfying for me. You could also get the $90 electric conversion kit for the Vesla and go 8-12s

I think he has that covered. https://www.largescaleforums.com/threads/sup-dudes-kraken-vesla-on-the-way.30205/

I'll keep an eye out for your build.

Yeah my first Vesla is 12s which is just fantastic fun. Second one totally unnecessary but I wanted it lol. I would love to see how you feel. Were you running 8 or 12s?

I was running on 8s. I also have an HPI baja 5b has the same configuration and it is much faster that the Vesla. Since the Vesla is much heavier I feel like it needs 12s, but I don't want to buy more batteries. My Baja 5b weighs in at 26.4lb while my Vesla is 40lb... quite the difference.

If that ESP34cc can push my 48lb Vekta.5 around pretty quickly, then it should do a great job in the Vesla.
