Buying a used HPI Baja

Hi guys. I've been wanting a 1/5 scale gas rc car for awhile now, ever since I started up in RC really. Also, I've always wanted a genuine HPI car since those are the ones that seem to be the best. The only problem I have is the steep price on a new one. Since a new one costs so much, I have a question for you guys. Is buying a used HPI Baja a bad idea, or have many of you bought yours used? What should I look for to make sure it is a GENUINE HPI?

I bought my 5b used and have no regrets. Mine was purchased from a member of the sister forum http://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/. Buying on a forum can save some headaches. Look at the sellers trader feedback and that will help. I don't think I'd have a problem buying at either of these forums again because of the rules on sales.
