Have any one hared or tried to use cable to operate the carburetor leaver instead of using roads?
I mean cables like the cables used for mechanical brakes.
I am thinking of doing so. Any input will be appreciated.

yes it is onroad. and dirt May be an issue, but the setup on the Berg seems pretty good, and appears it would be fine in the dirt. but.......

a cable linkage isnt as fast or reliable IMHO being the flex and also more chances of it sticking , i had a cable on my boat and reconfig'd it into a straight rod linkage with a bell crank and is 110% better .

Al 4x4 cars (real cares that is) that dos not use electronic throttle have a cable to operate the throttle and I have never seen or heard of one getting stuck due to a cable jam.

cable Control

Every thing is possible. But I think is rarer.
Yes my man it can be done,,you just have to figue out the proper routing for your cable..Hell they got cable pull for frt breake right?
so go fit my man..show us a picture of what your doing..getttterrr done..

I may do it. If I can find the time.
Must move to new house before September 15. Get power & water connected, French the house… The list is endless.
Plus it is 110 + out side.

The cable thing was just an idea, I scratched my head, and then there was this post.
I just thought of sharing an idea, it might be good or bad. I am just sharing.

I've used cables on some of my custom projects, but only because a rod linkage would have been awkward to implement. They work ok, but need to be adjusted so there's no slack. Whereas rods will push the throttle closed with the servo, if a cable is dirty, it may sometimes get stuck if the return spring isn't strong enough.

That is true. With the cable you should make sure the carb closes with strong springs. And preferable the spring should act on the throttle valve directly, so even if the cable brakes it will close the carb.
