RC Acres is proud to present its first 1/5 scale three day event, the Canadian 5ifth Scale Nationals. In 2013 we ran our first 1/8 scale three day event, part of the RC Pro series, and it was a great success with nothing but large praise for the job well done.

RC Acres’ primary goal was to provide a facility to race 1/5 scale at its best. And we feel we’ve come through. The track owner is a known motocross champion, putting some championship roots in to creating the track.

The 2014 Canadian 5ifth Scale Nationals will have three days of intense 1/5 scale RC racing with side events like the “Last Man Standing” race, and more. There will also be camping available on premises. RC Acres also has a concession stand on site. We will also be providing a Pig Roast for the drivers, as well as live Bands to end the nights.

BREAKING NEWS regarding the 2014 Canadian 5ifth Scale Nationals
Dear 5th Scale Racers,

As you may have been aware, the venue of the Canadian 5ifth Scale Nationals, RC Acres, Hamilton, Ontario, has been in discussions with the City of Hamilton regarding their facility in regards to their rights and freedoms to conduct races. Today, was a pivotal day in those discussions, whereas series racing will be allowed to continue, however, multi-day events are currently not permissible. Some of the key components of this event involve camping, additional entertainment and continuous racing, and at this juncture, RC Acres will not be able to stage this event.

But with this devastating news, there is a silver lining. The Canadian 5ifth Scale Nationals in the 11th hour has been awarded a new venue.

July 18-20 the 2014 Canadian 5ifth Scale Nationals will be held at its new venue, Walton Raceway, inside the Motocross Capital of Canada, Walton, Ontario. Just 125 Km North-West of RC Acres, Walton has already proven itself a more than capable host venue for an event of this magnitude, and will offer additional caveats not offered anywhere else. Everything promoted prior:
• 3 Days of Racing (Friday Controlled Practice, Saturday Qualifiers, Sunday Mains)
• Saturday Night Dinner (Pig Roast or similar)
• Saturday Night Party

Plus...: exceptional camping facilities (Hydro and Water hook-ups available), showers on-site, food booth, vendors, lots of tuning areas, no sound restrictions, and much more.

In 2014 Walton Raceway created a permanent 1/5 Scale Track with an exceptional drivers stand. After the first official race there, the reviews were all exceptional; racers loved the fast track, the varying elevation, the short track maintenance breaks and the layout. They will continue to add events for 1/5 scale racers, and the community is excited to have them as part of our growing industry. They will be an exceptional host for the Canadian 5ifth Scale Nationals.

Our thanks to Tom Bitz and Brett Lee team for their quick acceptance of this opportunity, and their accommodation has now ensured that this inaugural and premier race will transpire.

We look forward to racing with you at Walton. It's not the way we had planned it, but we're confident that this race will be as outstanding as we had hoped, just with a different backdrop.

See you in July.

Track Modifications
Elevated-Elevated Drivers Stand... from Steve Emery: "we ARE building a new drivers stand above the current one. We are hoping for a great turn out at the Canadian 5th scale nationals. This is a great track at a great facility and it is getting even better. With the drivers stand at double the height it is now, the track options are limitless"
The Bump in front of the Pizza Jump ... kind of obstructed view... to be changed
who knows what else... all we know is it's going to be awesome.

On behalf of all of the contributors and team members... we look forward to making history with you.

Can someone please confirm there will be 'no sound restrictions' for this event? IE - un-silenced pipes? There seems to be mixed information on this.

Swap Meet at the Nationals
uty3enut.jpg
Saturday afternoon at the Canadian 5ifth Scale Nationals, after the last qualifier and during the extra to the event festivities, we'd like to hold a small Swap Meet. Everyone has those parts that are laying around, and you don't know if someone wants or needs them. Please fill in your name below as well as what parts you might have for the meet. Hopefully people can see the list and know who to look for to get the parts they want. So two things to remember; bring your extra parts, and bring some extra cash for the parts you might want.
To list your stuff or to see current responses, look here: http://jscully.tk/swap
