yes i expect to be heckled for this!! so the stock wheel nuts need to be loc-tite on. i am not a loc-tite person, so don't really use it for anything. i used blue and the wheels spun right off. afraid of rounding a hex i used red loc-tite the next time. worked great!! i fought tooth and nail with a torche and and socket set trying to get these wheels off. i got three. was cursing the hole time!!! im such a dope!! RED LOC-TITE!!well the 4th one is still on. i have rounded off the hex, and cracked a drive cup trying to get it off. i have tryed a small torche and a LARGE TORCHE. nothing!! im kinda pissed at myself, couse it says right on the bottle: COUTION.. "PERMENENT". this all started couse i wanted to clean my bearings(clean freak!) so i just ordered a new set of rims.. it gets better. placed one order, forgot stuff, placed a second order 5 minutes later. still didnt order the right wheel nuts..

The Darksoul wheel nuts help alot with the holding, since they have a larger flange and knurled inside.
ya i know. i ment to order those from you, but i just forgot. you'll see i have 2 seperate orders 5 minute apart!! .

CHUCKED- no i wasnt using a six point. don't have them in extended socked. i didnt round off the wheel nut hex, i rounded off the hex on the rim.

I ran this afternoon and had a wheel come off:D not enough blue on it, other three are still tight. I'm just uploading some vid of the sprint ss pipe running, the wheel came off after a 1/3rd of a tank but no other damage:eek: I actually have both my rc's running 100%... nothing to tinker with...I need number 3

Ooo, hmm dunno how your having a hard time, i put mine on with red loctite, just pulled them off tonight no problem to put cv boots on.

Have to blue loctite them, and the loctite needs to set up overnite. THat's what I do, and I have never had a problem. Red is not good to use just about anywhere. lol
ya i see that. im not really sure what i was thinking when using the red. oh well. it was kinda funny after the situation ended. i was fightin with that thing like it was runway model. "givin her all i had but tryin not to leave any bruises"

One thing you guys want to do BEFORE applying any loctite regardless of color is to de-grease all mating parts. When things come loose w/ loctite it's because there is probably some residue still on or in there.

BTW- WD-40 is NOT a degreaser it's a lubricant, may sound stupid, but a friend had a problem like this, and kept insisting he de-greased it. Brake cleaner works well to get most of the stuff of, but may leave a whitish residue after so I wash the parts in soap and hot water, then left them air dry, before assembly.

Thanks for jinxing me Kryp......I used a tiny amount of red and even wiped it off before putting the wheelnuts on......tonight, 3 came off with a slight struggle....the last one me and the wifey were fighting with pretty heavy......putting the Dark Souls on tomorrow!
