Yeah yeah man you need a new engine and the old one is no good I 'll send you some shipping money so I can properly dispose of it.

you dodged a bullet on that one. on one of my engines the c clip came off and proceeded to lodge itself between the ring and the cylinder wall. total carnage on the top end of that engine. Learned my lesson that day to put the c clip open end facing up or down but not the the side.

That is great!

Don't mean to be the Devil's advacate It is just the Airplane Mechanic in me are you sure the clip was not in or could it be in the bottom end or did it go out the exhaust?

I am sure you split the case to inspect for it and cleaned the exhaust chamber to look for it so you know it won't show up later on top of piston like emu67's engine.

Sorry to be a a**whole or bearer of bad news but I sure would have checked, that is just me thhough as a indycar mechanic years back and airplane mechanic we can't leave missing parts to chance, must tear down , inspect , and exhaust all possibilities.

yea i open everything up the c/clip was cut in half i open the case and the 2 peaces of the c/clip fell off and the pin was stuck have no idea how it felt off everything was check before 1 run and i saw the clip well put
