Just built my car stand .
Speaker stand was about £35
Top is stainless with some 5mm silicone sheet glued to the top (super grippy and hard wearing , but soft)
Cut a hole in the stainless tray and turned up a mounting bobbin from nylon.
Reckon it owes me about £55 all in.

I made one with a speaker stand, and the axis swivels with the top stands. Worked great and used it for years until I was able to get an axis stand. That looks great, good job
