Hey guys I just purchased a used MT from a guy off of craigslist for 400.00.


It had a bad steering servo, but he gave me an extra one he had that was bad as well.


I pulled the servo out and tore it apart, one gear was chunked pretty bad. I made one good servo out of the two and got my truck to turn without issues.


I noticed last night that the carb linkage is really sloppy where the rod goes into the hole on the arm for the carb.


Is there any way to take this slop out? Do they make a small enough clevis that I can use with a bolt running through?


I also noticed that when you give it full throttle, the butter fly will open about 90% of the way, then after the carb linkage rod get done deflecting it will open the remaining 10%.


Any ideas or pointers to getting a better linkage, or a better actuation?
 
sounds like you have the wrong servo horn on your t/b servo. or you need to adjust your extents on the radio. as far as the slop in the linkage goes does it look worn out? or does it look like its supposed to be there? mine has a little movement
 
You should get a new linkage the part that the rod slides into also you can adjust the linkage at the servo arm so when you push full throttle the carb opens fully.
 
I got to looking at various pictures and figured it out.


The previous owner had replaced the throttle/brake servo, and when he did he had the piece that the trottle rod mounts to the servo horn on incorrectly and in the wrong hole.


After I took it off, turned it 180 degrees and used the inner hole on the servo horn everything straightened out perfectly.
