Carb question

Im looking into getting a carb for my DR but I don't know the difference in the carbs with a choke and without a choke. Is it necessary to have a choke? Im new to the gas rcs. I usually stuck to electric.

choke is not needed

The factory carb is a copy of the 668 they both tend to have a small lag when it transitions from the low to high needle. The 990 does not.

How do u start it with no choke? Whats the starting procedure? Sorry im new to gas

Cold start- Prime a few times, there should be no air in the fuel lines. Pull the starter cord slowly one or two times then pull normally to start. It should fire in just a few pulls.

Hot start- Just give it a pull or two. It will start right back up.
