ok i have a 28.5 ported with a 813 carb i had it running sweet but all of the sudden it would not idle i have tried every adjustment and it wont do it i have to feather the throttle top end and anything but idle works great any suggestions

Your low end needle setting greatly affects the idle position. Once you get the low end needle where you like it then the idle stop has to be set to match that setting. Meaning you may need to crank the idle stop on the carp to have it come up, if this is what you do remember it will also need a EndPoint Adjustment on your radio or a slight linkage adjustment to keep the servo free and no binding.

it sounds like your running rich on the low end. try to get your idle screw back to were it was and lean out the low end. it may throw you off if you adjusted the idle first and THEN adjusted the low end followed by leaning out the high end too.. you want to get it close to were it was at first. sometimes it helps me if i un0hook the linkage from the carb so you can adjust that once its running ok.. let us know what happens

does anyone know the factory settings on these carbs it will give me a good starting point

i don't think they have a factory setting.. its kinda tough if your running a headkit.. that means you have NO defoult setting to go on. i would try the cy23 settings wich are 1 1/4 on the low side and 1 1/2 on the high side.. there are also no defoults for the idle. pretty much whatever works.. the 813 is kinda finicky. mainly on the low end, wich is were you are having issues. i spent plenty of time tuning one. changed pipe 2 tanks later and it never ran right after that..ever..
