I have both. I hated the 990 (others love it). Since it took me like 20 pulls each time to get it started.(yes It was tuned correctly)Phill said:I don't have any personal experience of the 813 but have been told it's hard to tuneThe 990 works fine for me
I don't have that problemSilent_chaos said:I have both. I hated the 990 (others love it). Since it took me like 20 pulls each time to get it started.(yes It was tuned correctly)As for Tuning, they're both similar.
1turn low needle and 1.25 turn high needle.
Carb tuning is pretty much easy. I have a rule, Just tune it as the above and if ur not satisfied, turn 1/8 to the left or 1/8 to the right till you have the correct engine sound.
Yeah I guess. That problen is solved with the 813 tho.Phill said:I don't have that problemUsually starts in 2 - 3 pulls but every motor/carb is different
And from this rule you have you will never tune correctly what is the correct engine sounds like when you have the high speed needle set correctly.Silent_chaos said:I have both. NO it was not tuned correctly if it takes that many pulls.Silent_chaos said:I have both. I hated the 990 (others love it). Since it took me like 20 pulls each time to get it started.(yes It was tuned correctly)
All depends on performance mate.rcgasser said:And from this rule you have you will never tune correctly what is the correct engine sounds like when you have the high speed needle set correctly.
still did not answer the question what does the engine sound like when you have the high speed needle set correctly????? your words "turn 1/8 to the left or 1/8 to the right till you have the correct engine sound". Now you are speaking on performance. That is not engine sound.Silent_chaos said:All depends on performance mate.I take the 1 and 1.25 as a basis. Always do small runs to tune correctly.. If it's set, it's set.
Oh, my bad, I did not get your question beforehand.rcgasser said:still did not answer the question what does the engine sound like when you have the high speed needle set correctly????? your words "turn 1/8 to the left or 1/8 to the right till you have the correct engine sound".
