yeah might work mate better than the one you melted yesterday dude what a nightmare mcd eats clutch not good on a different note mine was rocking i hamered the crap out of it only broke a rose joint and melted my hydro brake pipe other than that good day for me i think wagon enjoyed watching me every time i looked round the mcd was in more bits

just fitted the engine back into my car......Gonna giv it while to set and then giv it a go......Fingers crossed.......

I would think it would be best to use brake pad rather then carbon. I would think the carbon would heat up the bell more?
That type of thinking is probably the reason we can't say it works or not. Very unsure.
Sounds like a good test. If it works you could always make a sheet with the bend needed to make a solid piece of carbon and go from there. Nice idea! I hope it works and a new line is born!!!

well crew, tried clutch today and seems fine... Have giv it some Runs, on an off the throttle and flat out, only ran it on road for now, gonna take engine off when i get a mo an check to see what its like.. Gonna giv it a proper test tomorra.. Ill stick pictures up later. An let u all know the outcome...

Sounds like a top repair job mate !

I like the spacing between the carbon pieces...
that will get rid of the heat... as for the carbon
I think it will be alright. It may wear quickly but
should grab just fine. When it get's hot that may
be a problem..
Great idea keep posting..I would like to see the
result's..........................:gun_bandana:

well people, took it out today with renbarr an our mate si, giv it a proper go today. Used a good tank an half, about an hours use. Started to slip a little at first, but soon as it seemed to bed itself it was pucca!! Till i melted a fuel line, lol. remember that i run a mcd ultimate that is very heavy an 4 wheel drive. So i reckon it would be great on a hpi baja or fg 2wd. Gonna get engine off a.s.a.p to check, but all seems good... Could be a good cheap fix for any basher.....i will post pictures a.s.a.p.

top day mate had another faultless couple of tanks tru mine again don't know whats going on with that but il take it well happy cant belive si the twat jumped his straight into a tree it stoped dead well funny it was about 3 foot in the air as well pucker day

Here are the pictures i promised....as u can see there is hardly any wear on them after a good hour of hard running.....

I voted yes before I read the thread and I was right by the looks of your pics mate, good job Wagon.....

Was there much dust in the bell when you removed engine?

No not realy mate.I diddent notice any......i had also removed the sharp edges of the carbon before i installed it too with a dremal,so the wear is only on the flat surface...happy days....
