How hard is it to do ? Ive never done it before but would
love to try! Ive been reading up on the idea but would
like to no by the pro's before i get this cloth kit and make
my own cf parts etc

Thanks
Andy

Its not as easy as you think...

remember the mould has to be perfect..

the first layer in is the one thats seen ..

fibre glass has no pattern just the dull colour..

carbon has a pattern to it so if its a complex shape you need to get the first layer down without kinks etc so the final product looks good..

also to be strong the weave has to be laid in the correct direction and alternated through the lay up.

one bonus is if you have some imperfections you can sand it back and lacquer it back to a good shine.

plenty to read online just have a quick search

How about cf skinning ?

So i put one layer of cf cloth down, mix the resin etc then apply right ?
Rub down then apply more resin and repeat this, then clear coat.

if moulding or skinning you have to wet all with resin then apply the cloth and soak it through again with resin.
it will take some practice but can be done well..
you can also do a single layer of carbon to give the look then thicken/strengthen
the part with fibre glass

PRACTICE is the key

Thanks mate for the info i will give it a try and practice
like you said before i go for bigger projects.
