hello all so this is my carson thread.just got the car today and i have to say i am delighted with it,it has a lovely blue chassis with blue shocks anodised everythingcool looking,,front disc brakes, rear layshaft brake, tuned pipe, body with spoiler and decals, just finished painting of the bmw shell it is a bmw 320 si and it is huge.now make no mistake these onroad 1/5th scale cars are very fast with there gearing and 23cc engines and tuned pipes.the engine supplied is a german built solo 23cc.

the carson is also built in germany like fg,they are in direct competition with fg,my opinion both cars are identical in stock trim, the spec of this car is amazing for the price 600euro rtr,i even like the transmittor lights up blue.

these were the steps i took today.

1/painted body shell first(came out 100percent) alpine white with gt wing(black)
2/took it outside and drove it for a half a tank of fuel break in,i have a vid here and pics,it started first pull and ran perfect, must richen l/needle next time a bit, seemed to be starving a little bit.but WOW IS IT QUICK even on part throttle.

3/putting on the decals now,i gave it a couple of clear coats to protect the finish.

here is few pics.

from wheel spin models uk.

yes im uploading now.

if your buying onroad this is the best value trip, trust me its a well nice machine, all fg parts including a-arms and gearplates, everything just a direct fit.

Man, Dc2...just love that bmw body!!! Looks sweet!! Ive been contemplating getting an fg baja or an fg onroad...if i do get the on road....i want that body too!!!
how do you like it soo far???? hard to control?? Getting tonnes wheel spin?? Really looking forward to see some of your video too!! Cant wait!!!

love it!!

kwakr man go for onroad...

for the change, off roads are great but they cost a fortune due to parts braking from the rough conditions they run on.

an onroad car is far more relibale because it is not under as much stress being driven on smooth tarmac.

man this machine is super quick, watch the vid PART THROTTLE trying to run it in,it has a special carb/induction set up,tuned pipe and its a 23cc solo german built.

the build quality is awesome .....

love it....

Hey DC, nice on road, ive had 3 in the past , first was a short wheel base sport line FG, did'nt like it, to hard to controll, 2nd was a full on comp 02FG long wheel base, that was nice, then last onroad i had was a Lautenbacher x link comp that was the best but don't think they don't break parts as i was spending a lot more on the on road cars than the off road cars, just see how you go, as things where out very fast as there is a lot more grip so more force on every part, including tyres. Man i had to buy a new set every race and have every kind for all conditions..

anyway injoy it as it is real fun ...where will you run it?..also love the BMW shell..

man you have had some sweet machines in the past.

i have a load of goodies for this lady when they need to be put on,first i am going to see how it goes for now.
i want to see the quality now and see what way everything works out.

i have so many alloy bits for this, engine mounts alloy, gearplate alloy, alloy rear lower a-arms,all the ball joints iv got them alloy, carbon diff brace, alloy diff, so i think this machine will be a cheap relibale project for a very long time.

plus i have loads of plastic spares for it from my fg too....

more updates soon..

fg/carson

haha

it is actually build by fg themselves..

fg build these engines now in house in germany.engine reads fg modelsport.

new facts....lol

i think the controller is grand i will see how it goes,i have a hitek one on standbye now if anything happens it.

the only think i would be concerned about trip is the servos.

sure we will see how the whole thing goes anyway.

just buy another receiver and use your spektrum!!!!

Kwakr... Spoken like a true Prodigy!!

DC... That stock controller and the Hitec controller, are at the bottom of the bucket... All it takes is for some boob to be 100 ft away and turn on their controller, what if they have the same frequency as you? Then what? Your pride and joy screaming down the street into a brick wall, or a full size car, or even worse, a child or someones dog!! Don't risk it!!

Are those controllers 27 or 75 band? Are they FM or AM? My old stock T-Maxx controller was AM 27 band (These are the worst... I remember you running a Traxxas controller too!!!!) But, every time my cell phone would ring (or someone else around me) the damn truck took off at 50 mph!! No big deal I guess, small truck equals small damage, but think about your new car doing the same!!!

I know why large scale companies (FG included) use poopy radio gear, (to keep buying costs down) But, it's just not worth the risk! I know I am guilty too, with me running my old ass Airtronics 3P from 1993, but it has never failed me and it has options the newer radios don't have... Like traction control, ABS, and dead set trim memory (if you put your servo horn on and the servo isn't centered, you can adjust the trims all the way, then the "trim memory" will call that, Zero position. Then you can adjust the trims even more and center as often as needed) I had to use this because I used RED locktight on my steering servo and it wasn't centered! lol!!!

{{{I know some of the newer radios have traction control and ABS, but the trim memory is something I NEED, because of my fiddlestick-up! If any of the new radios have this, PLEASE let me know!! I was thinking about buying a Nomadio Sensor, because someone told me it had a trim reset, does it?!! I guess I need to make a new thread about this, but I was hoping someone could help me out}}}

Sorry Dan for puking on your thread!! lol

Anyway, enough from me...

Trip..

cheers trip

must check out the radios i am using here now actually, well frequencys i mean,i am going to be using the spectrum on the fg,and my old hitek is a good one it cost 150euro its not too bad, wouldnt think its great but i might give it a go,i think your right about that,i must check them out now....

working hard at these machines tonight now, time for a break!!

coffee..
