Hey guys new to this community, old to rc but very glad to be here. I have been reaserching motors that would be a good upgrade to my 1/5 maverick vader (rampage xb e) and have decided to go with a 1500ishkv motor because of some videos I've seen with the castle creations mamba 1717. Last week in my search for a new motor I picked up (by accident) a mamba 1717 1500kv air / helicopter motor. I know the motor has smaller fins and a 6mm shaft but does any one know if there are any technical reasons why this motor should not be ran in a car? Will I burn the motor / ESC out quick? is this a poor idea all around or is this ok to do?

Title should say motor, sorry

The air version will give the same results as the ground version (except for a small difference in kv). I know of a few guys that run them in 1/8 scale monster trucks with no issues. You may want to cover the holes in the motor to keep debris out though.

It will run very hot, you will need to gear accordingly, sell it and get one of these.....http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24850__Turnigy_TrackStar_1_5th_Sensorless_Brushless_Motor_730KV.html
