A small rock got lodged in the break disc. not enough to stop it but the friction got so hot that the disc caught on fire and melted the fiberglass disc.


I was able to take it all apart and sand off all the melt. So all is good.


Sorry I didn't think to take any pics. its just a word of caution when bashing in gravel.
 
I've had a rock caught between the lower control arm and axle shaft before, no fire but one hell of a noise.
 
Dang!

i always get puffs of smoke from my breaks under heavey breaking, i didnt realise they could catch a'light, gonna have to keep an eye on this, fuel lines are pritty close

plan on running later. worked on repairing everything last night. I think it will be fine. it was only surface melt and on one side of a disc had a layer of fiber glass came off.

actually taking it all apart gave me a chance to get the drive train rolling smoothly. Out of the box the gears were binding. I notice backing the screws off on the gears allowed them to spin more freely.
