Wiil castle ice 2 160 ESC work just as good on 12s with 500kv motor as mamba xl2 on 780kvmotor? Thinking lower kkV and higher volts should lower amp draw.mechanical brakes should make using cc 160 not a problem.both ESC have same amp rating,just able to go to 12s and amps should be lower. Thinking that could help the situation that is the mamba xl2 not really being sufficient for a 40lb 4×4. Thinking 160 on 50v might work better.also,is there any hydraulic brakes out for a 5t front only or front and back?

Strange, but in one part, early on, Castle mention 8S as the maximum, but later on they do mention 12S.

The XL2 is certainly only 8S.
It certainly hauls my 10 kg LST2 6S BL and my 7-8 kg E-Maxx 6S BL.

I did have some problems with the LST2 initially, blowing a couple of the XL2's .... certainly would not recommend on 20+ kg rig.

There are suitable ESC's, but they're at least 200A+ rated and pretty darned expensive.

Some people get away with the xl2 on the 5ts for months and some people are popping em like bubble gum.would suck to blow 159$ in 10 seconds on a xl2.also sucks to pay for a 250@ mgm ESC and wait for it from over seas.might try to run dual xl2 and split up the amps,still half price of a 250@ mgm and should be pretty bulletproof.
