On a personal note, I personally built 100% of the re-strike and secondary trim dies (Stamping dies) for the left front fender on the Challenger! We had 3 mock-up cars and one real car for fitment. Chrysler's proving ground is located in Chelsea Mi, 1/8 of a mile from my last house. I got to be very annoying to listen to tires screeching at all hours of the night, but cool to listen to them smash into stuff! In the late fall and winter (when the leaves fell) I could watch them beat the hell out of the cars, from my backyard.

I admit Trip, I had a Formula 400 when I was travelling the country (traded in a Duster on that) as the company paid my fuel so I went big block. I really liked it. But my old man raised me as a Dodge guy. The old fart used to loved bringing home 440 Chargers and such as demos (he was the body shop manager) and stomping youngins with their small blocks. My first car was a Charger. Had a Polara ragtop with a 383 and a few others. Had Chevs too though but every Ford I ever owned caused me grief so am biased...

only cuda I ever owned arrived in a box this morning and needs paint to mount on the FG ;) ... I saw one on the road yesterday, SRT wow. I think I heard my Cavalier wimper.
 
Way back when in my glory days, in 1993...

A buddy had a 66 SS Chevelle 396 360hp, Convertible (Berger Car) With A/C a factory 4 speed car. (VERY RARE CAR)

I had a 70 SS El-Camino (Originally an LS5 car) 327 with a blower and a 4 speed.

Another buddy had a 70 Chevelle 350 automatic, we used to pick on him like crazy because of his "slushbox"!

Another buddy had a 72 Charger with a 440 6 pack and a 4 speed (Non numbers matching)

But my buddies '67 black on black Firebird 400 with a 4 speed was defiantly the coolest. At 17, we pretty much destroyed that car :( Dumbass kids!

There were a few other wieners out there with 5 liter Mustangs and some 3 gen Camaros, but they just got laughed at.

We used to meet at Rogers in Grand Rapids MI every fri and sat night to terrorize the town, with burnout contests and light to light drag races.

I was building a sleeper 79 Gran Prix with a 400 out of a 67 GTO. It wasn't much of a sleeper after the first race and I broke the motor mounts. The motor flopped up and wiped out all my valves on one bank when the valve cover hit the hood! But the cool thing was, I met Ted Nugent that night with his 87 GNX, laughingly, he called me a "Rookie" as he blasted a 12 second pass!

My daily driver at the time was a 52 Chevy pickup 3/4 ton with a 9 foot box, painted dark green, everybody called it the "Army Truck" 216 straight 6, with a 5.36:1 rear gear, a 3 speed with a granny gear and a top speed of 45mph! (Redline was 3,500 rpm) :lol:

rents had a 73 road runner with the 383. old man was a power nut so he did some motor work on it. man that thing was NUTZ. loved that 73 body style too.

always been a mopar/gm guy myself. the only Fords worth having are the 60 stangs and the 60/70s broncos.
