Change of air filter set up

Thinking of changing from my stock air filter set up on FG to something different, maybe a uni-stack and applicable filter.

Has anyone changed their FG air filter set up and if so what did you go to?

I don't want to try a HPI style set up.

i still run the stock fg filter housing but use the tps 3 layer foam set it works realy well i also use outerwares cover much better than the stock single foam

thanks ren, i use the stock filter plus a TGN dual stage on top and notice a small amount of grit on the black housing so I want to change the set up altogether.

don't think you can beat FG stock matey,just run an Outwears on it as well or a TGN.

hey james, i keep seeing grit whenever i pull my foam off the holder on the black holder part that sits against the carby so im thinking a small amount of grit is getting into my engine.

im thinking something like this with a velocity stack would be bulletproof?

What I do Sohan is smear a layer of grease around the filter housing,this creates a seal.

When you said the HPI did you mean stock? Its not too bad you know and you'll have loads of room to change the pre-filter.

Make sure your filter is oiled on the ends as well. There is no reason to have dirt getting by on the inside like that unless its dry or not tight fitting. The TGN Redneck can also be used to wrap around the backside of the black plastic holder so the dirt cannot get to that area.

I would stick with the stock unit.

well everyones pretty much telling me the same thing so im going to stick with the stock and just see what I can do different to make it work better.
