Ok, I changed gearing on my xt project. Now it wont roll freely, any ideas guys? did I overtighten something? Electric is my thing, this new to me

The most common culprit is the buts holding the gears gets over tightened causing the gears to bind . I like to tighten mine down and back em off just a tad. Once you get the feel for it you will be getting it back together in a heartbeat

Ok, rested and ready to begin again. Thanks guys I will Check that now, I also changed the clutch, but that seems to be ok. Just don't want to burn up bearings.

It's normally the nut on the D gear being over tightened. When that nut is tightened it pulls the lay shaft outward through the D gear. This causes a mesh issue with the center diff gears. Those nylock nuts should just barely be snug.

The problem is the center diff gears don't, but should come with shims. The gears just kind of float and self align. So if you push or pull on the lay shaft they become misaligned.

I still wish there was another option for the brake layshaft like a 1 piece or something
