i been looking around on youtube and on here and i see that the people has cut them off of there rampages im wondering if i do this to mine well i get some gain some height. i don't like the way it sits on the ground now..im looking for a why to gain some ground height with out buying the adjustable towers. can anyone tell me that this would do the job or someone that has done this.

thanks robbie

The purpose of the tabs is to limit suspension arm travel they are used with the version 3 lower suspension arms that have a small hole to accept a grub screw, you can cut them but cutting them and raising the height you run the risk of wearing out the dogbones or cvd's losing pins, and cracking cups, too much pre-load on the shocks can cause this problem as well, you can adjust your camber alittle to make the dogbone angle less severe, be carful to not put too much positive camber or you will have performance issues good luck and bythe way my mt chassis does not have the tabs and I don't have any problems.

yes i know there for the limited the suspension travel.but its called a mosnter truck and i never seen a monster truck so low to the ground. and i know ill probly wear out parts..but i want more height..and did you buy yours new or use?

I bought mine as a roller from ddm when they use to sell rollers! Its a version 2 they didnt have the tabs, I know what you mean about the height it is low, if you raise the height by pre load the shocks you will break cups pins and dogbones within a few minutes of running not from normal wear over time, a good way to see what im talking about is place the chassis on a block or somthing to raise it off the ground so the wheels ar not touching the ground then spin the gears you can somtimes see the wheels jump when the dogbone binds up.

I noticed that too when I got my XT. Good point on a monster truck should not be this low. I can imagine the chasis scraping the ground most of the time. I'm not sure why it was designed this way. To protect the chasis and the screws, I deviced my own shield with thin metal and covered the chasis with it to make it last longer ans also not round off the hex screws.

yea mine is all mess up under the chassi. i want to cut the taps off.but then i don't..ill just buy the adjustble towers and see what happens
