Not to sound cliche;but, you get what you pay for and price usually reflects quality. Also, are spares readily available?

well riff hello,my purpose of this thread is to point out the links to the shops and prices, thats about it im afraid,i presume parts could be obtained from shop where purchaced.

and another valuable point i am trying to make is i hear so many around this forum talking about buying cheap and upgrading, well i am not one for cheap toys i am an fg man,but as a new project i would like to spend as little as possible on one of these and try it out for the laugh.

price is low,so who cares!
would be fun to test it out and see just what it would take to make relibale,i don't give a damm that rc petrol car is an awesome looking deal...

couldnt be much worse than the more expensive non brand named models similar to this(other cheap ones)so called 1/5th scales, wont name any but u get my point ..

ok, the xrc is junk, no parts are interchangable. the shenqi isnt far behind, but most parts are changable to fg as its a triple "clone".. the duratrx isnt bad, but just a little cheap, most if not all parts are fg compatable. the electrics? those are toys. if you pick one up the duratrax is the best.. i think these cheap cloned rigs are more sutable for the experianced rc'r. it can drive a newbie crazy.. i have 2 clones, and they really take some work

thats it kryptonite,ur bang on the button there.

you see an experienced person like us would know the ups and downs of rc,and being honest more often than not all rc1/5th scale trucks generally give pretty much the same issues but differnt part designs like the diffs and so on.

thats why im saying i think for an experienced hobiest one of these clones as a second budget machine is ideal,my preference would be a cheap on road car for now to give my fg monster a break.

ya, i have a cloned fg sportsline on-road.. i love it. took some time to get the bugs out, but thats part of the fun. i even raced it a couple time last year. love the on-roads!!

Hey bud as far as the sheng quim and the xarsec stay away...if you want a cheap second rc to upgrade cheap into a great basher get a redcat rampage...you will not be disapointed.
being cheap to buy and upgrade, as my friend clubin, says does not mean it is cheap...maybe others are overpriced...something to think about!

hey lads.
ok i have made a desicion for my onroad car,i have decided to buy the hobypro bmw m3 gt 1/5th scale onroad car with 23cc engine.
in my book this is an awesome deal, looks quite the same set up as most fg's so many parts may be interchangable.

PAINTED BODY SHELL,disc brakes,i don't care i think this is a great deal,im most defo getting one,

should have this in a few weeks and will start up a new discussiion about it with pics along the way just to see how it goes and runs.

will be very intresting to see what one of these cheap cars are like to own and run and how reliable it is,here is the link.

this model comes at an amazing price rtr with servos and radio gear.
check out the video in there shop,i think they are chinese built.

so ANYBODY KNOW anything about them, have any of you got one,any of you know about the company hobbypro?

pretty sure bobbypro are smartech/duratrax etc. alot of fg parts should fit but as with the offroad to change engine mounts and diffs etc it'll all need to be fg, arms, bulks etc.
Kinda toyed with the idea of onroad myself but it would be too lonely and we've no cart tracks round where I am.
I'm sure others here have had experience with the hobbypro cars

moom an good to hear from you,so hows it going, did you get anychance to run your own lately?
i ran mine today for an hour in a local football field and was going grand untill some sea from someplace suddenly fell out of the sky...lol

in fairness onroad cars are subject to less stress as the monsters, little or no pressure on plastic parts when driven on smooth surfaces,i think that hobbypro car is a great investment and in fact i might just order one tomorrow.

u could run them anywhere(any road)
just for something differnt, and at that price its a bargain regardless of quality....

excellent kryptonite

thats GREAT somebody else has one of these too.

so what do you think of the xrc?
have you it long,much trouble?

ive had my xrc on-road for about a year. its no good. everything breaks on it. the chassis is like paper and the motor wont put you over 20mph. i put a cy23 and it goes pretty good now, but the plastic is junk and only xrc parts will fit it. my hobby pro? has the same excact querks as the fg sportsline. motor mounts and gears. needs a few shock mods. cut the springs, heaver shock oil and front stabilizer(comes with rear).. tires are junk!! the tuned pipe is really good. excact same as fg. it will take some time to get the front brakes to grab even, but thats with all cable brakes. the stock cy23 has a mild port and has taller gears. in an empty parking lot... IT SCREAMS!! ITS THE FASTEST CAR I HAVE!! the plastic isnt bad. pretty good. mild chassis flex. not sure bout the servos, but they are ALL METAL GEARED. never used them. the stock radio is the same that comes with the hpi 5b. all fg parts are compatible.. all of them!! if i was going to buy another one, i would buy this again.. i heard that hobby pro bought trailer loads of these cars, and never paid for them. probly why they are so cheap and hobby pro is no where to be found..:2guns:

intresting man
yeah the hobby pro is the one i think i would go with, are they still available i wonder?
the xrc looks like a pile of s**t
